God is Great!

This week was fantastic. On Saturday the Ramirez family (Julio, Laura, Guadalupe, and Abril) were baptized, along with Lorena, her daughter Celia, and her friend Mica. It was a really really spiritual experience. The Spirit was so strong in the baptismal service. I think I've only felt the Spirit that strong in the temple. It was such a happy moment and everyone was crying. After the ordenances were performed Elder Fabila and I sang "Love at Home" in Spanish with a guitar. It was really fun. We practiced a few times and it didn't sound too good, but with the Spirit so strong and everyone so happy, it actually turned out pretty smashing. On Sunday all 7 of them were confirmed members of the church. This weekend was such a Spiritual bomb and I'll remember it for the rest of my life.

Sunday after church we ate lunch with the Ramirez family and they set a goal. On Tuesday, January 26, 2016 they will be sealed in the temple. They are so special. Lorena, Celia, and Mica were so happy as well, and it is so incredible to think that God trusts in us enough to let us participate in this work. I love Him so much. He did all of this, we didn't do anything.

Playing at the bridge - Elder Garrett and Elder Fabila
I'm so happy. I don't know that I've ever been happier in my mission. I love this area, and I love my companion. Elder Fabila is so great and he is one of my favorite companions. We're working hard and having a lot of fun along the way. "Adán cayó para que los hombres existiesen, y existen los hombres para que tengan GOZO." It is really impossible to describe how I am feeling right now. I love being a missionary.

Que la fuerza les acompañe.

Much love,
Elder John William Garrett
